I think we finally for the most part got the baby registries together. We’ve registered at Target, Babies “R” Us, and Baby Depot (which is in Burlington Coat Factory). I’ve included the links on the right site of our blog to that leads directly to our registry. We ask that you print out the registry and take it with you in case your purchase anything. This helps so that the numbers are updated so that multiples aren’t purchased.
Besides that, Kristin is doing fine. We are going to Becoming Mom Spa tonight to get some ultrasounds done of our own. They have one of those 4D Ultrasound machines (don’t even get me started on how it should be called 3d), so we’re going to get more detailed images, which I will be posting on the site.

We took some pictures of Kristin’s belly. It’s starting to get pretty big now. She says he’s starting to kick all the time and doing somersaults. He’s even kicked Moby and made him jump while Moby was laying against her belly.
I was laying in bed this morning trying to wake up and Ethan started moving a bunch. I haven’t felt him moving on the outside yet so I thought I’d put my hand on my stomach and see it if I could feel it. I could! James came over and after about 30 seconds Ethan moved again. James got a quizzical look on his face and said he thought he felt it. Then Ethan kicked again and we both felt it. James’ response – “That just feels creepy…” haha. I’m super excited that James can finally feel him now!!
We had a regular doctor’s appointment last week and everything is fine. Ethan’s heartbeat sounds normal and the doc said he’s doing good. We set up my next appointment for five weeks from now. I’m supposed to drink the yummy drink for the glucose test for that appointment. I should also get my rhogam shot that day too. Two weeks after that we have another ultrasound so the technician can check a few things she couldn’t see well before.
I just finished up scanning the ultrasound pictures. I’m barely able to see anything, kind of looks like tv static to me. You can click each of the images to see the larger picture of them.

We went to the doctor this morning to get our ultrasound (21 weeks) and find out if we’re having a puppy.
(Inside joke..sorry..haha) Soooo…we’re having a BOY!!! James Ethan looks healthy and everything is growing normally. We are getting another ultrasound done at about 30 weeks to see if the placenta has moved up from where it is. There’s a chance I may have to have a C-section if it doesn’t move up.
James is going to be putting up our pictures soon so you can see what Ethan looks like so far. He was laying sideways so it was a little harder for the technician to see everything and get good pictures, but you can see his face and feet in some of the pictures.
I finally broke down today and went maternity clothes shopping after school at Target. As I was looking through the clothes and finding not much in my size, James strolls up and surprises me. What a sweetie! I ended up trying on almost everything they had that was near my size and came home with two pairs of shorts, a pair of capris, a pair of dress pants, and two shirts. I tried some dresses on, but they all looked like huge tents…yikes! We don’t even want to discuss the bathing suits…haha.
We had a regular doctor’s appointment last week where we thought we’d get our ultrasound and find out the baby’s sex. Turns out it was just a regular checkup so the earliest we can get in because of schedule conflicts is going to be Thursday, May 21.
I’m starting to show a lot more and am seriously going to have to go shopping for maternity clothes in the next week. Rubberbands are almost not working anymore and only t-shirts fit now! We’re going to put some pictures of the baby bump up very soon.
We had the 19th week doctor visit yesterday and everything is looking good. The heartbeat was in range with what it should be. We also got back the genetic tests done on Kristin to screen for any potential issues and everything came back clear and good.
We did find out (or atleast I did) that because of something with Kristin’s blood, she’s going to need some kind of shot because if not it could cause issues with the baby. I’m not too sure what that was all about, but Kristin will probably leave a comment on this post explaining it a little better.
We thought we were going to find out the sex this visit, but it ended up that it wasn’t part of the doctors visit and we needed to schedule a seperate ultrasound for that. We couldn’t get in Monday because they wanted to wait until week 20 (and next Monday is only 19 1/2) and then the Thursday after that Kristin has meetings after school. We’re trying to plan to go on May 18th if they have something available, but we’re waiting for them to call back to let us know.
Besides that, nothing really has changed. Kristin is planning on going to the Gap Outlet down in Kentucky somewhere on Sunday to finally buy some maternity clothes. Her rubber band trick with the pants isn’t going to last much longer since she’s now using the large rubber bands.
For those that don’t know, Kristin went with her brother to Alaska to visit her sister. She went there over spring break for about 10 days. I’ve finally gotten her pictures up in our photo gallery.
Today was our 12 week doctor visit. It was the first time we went to Samaritan OBGYN with the new doctors since we decided we wanted to deliver at Good Samaritan. We got to hear the heartbeat again…strong and like a horse galloping. Then, as we were getting ready to leave and making the next appointment, our doctor came up and asked if we wanted to see our baby. He took us back and we got our first ultrasound. The baby was really active and we decided he/she is gonna take after James with his/her hyperness and constant movement.
