Moby has Giardia (Beaver Fever)
February 20, 2007 on 1:50 pm | In Pets | | By: JamesLooks like Moby is a little sick. We took him to the vet yesterday and had some tests ran on him. Talked to the vet today and at this point they know that he has Giardia. They are also having some more tests done, which we won’t get the results until Thursday on the rest of the tests. Moby is starting medication tomorrow for the next 10 days.

The medication that we need to give him is Metronidazole. It’s in a 250mg tablet. We have to break each tablet in half and feed him one half in the morning and the other half in the evening. We have to do this for 10 days.

Moby is doing a lot better now finally. He has dropped a duece each day for the last three day, and hasn’t cried about it.

In case you haven’t heard, he’s not doing so hot again. Was doing good there for a few days and then it got worse again. At this point he’s back on the medicine again for 10 days. If that doesn’t fix it, we’re going to have to look at a different solution with the vet.
